Italian citizenship oath

If you are applying for Italian citizenship through marriage, when your citizenship is granted you will have to make an oath of allegiance in front of the Italian Consul.
Generally the Consul’s Secretary will call you to arrange the meeting.
It is a formal ceremony but it only lasts a few minutes.

You will have to pronunce the oath in Italian, the words are as follows:
Giuro di essere fedele alla Repubblica Italiana e di osservare la Costituzione e le leggi dello Stato.
